Today Denver Global Reinvents The Lawnmower With The Introduction Of The Raven MPV7100 Series
The first hybrid multipurpose vehicle that combines a lawnmower, a vehicle and a portable generator
Denver, NC (May 27th, 2014) – Denver Global (www.RavenAmerica.com) today introduced the Raven MPV7100 Series, combining three products – a hybrid powered riding lawnmower, a portable 7100 surge-watt generator and a personal transport vehicle into one game changing multipurpose product. The Raven MPV transforms the way consumers tend to their property by offering unparalleled versatility from a single machine, combined with a refreshingly modern look.
In addition to its modern exterior, the Raven MPV comes equipped with a removable 46-inch fabricated mowing deck, ATV-style front shocks and suspension, and a built-in 7100-watt generator, allowing users to bring power wherever it’s needed.
As a mower, the easily removable 46-inch mowing deck provides a smooth cut with adjustable dual blades that can be set to cutting heights in half-inch increments from as low as 1.5 inches to as high as 4 inches. Users can easily navigate around trees, rocks, and other obstacles thanks to the MPV’s 14-inch turning radius, and when maneuvering isn’t required users can opt for the MPV’s built-in electronic cruise control system.
With the mower deck removed, the Raven MPV becomes a multipurpose vehicle capable of reaching speeds up to 17 mph in gas or electric mode. A built-in trailer hitch and a maximum towing capacity of 550 lbs. allows the MPV to easily transport small trailers or pull carts, whether they’re full of yard mulch, power tools or hunting/camping equipment. The large, turf-friendly tires allow users to mow without worrying about damaging their yard, while providing extra grip when used as a multipurpose vehicle.
Power has never been more portable thanks to the Raven MPV’s built-in generator. Operating as a mobile power plant, the Raven MPV allows users to power tools, appliances, TV’s, and just about any other item in their home or yard. It can also be used for emergency back-up power when weather strikes.
“Until now, no other mower available in the U.S. offered both the efficiency of a hybrid power system and the convenience of a multipurpose vehicle. The Raven line of products brings the future of yard care and outdoor power products within easy reach – and they’re fun too,” said Michael Parkins, CEO of Denver Global.
The Raven MPV is available at select retailers and dealers. For a complete list of features and capabilities, please visit https://www.ravenamerica.com.

Make sure the blade switch is off (pushed down) and the parking brake (pedal) is pulled all the way up. Put your foot under the pedal and pull it up. Have you changed the tranny gear selector? Make sure the little red lever is in one of the grooves. Those are the things I’ve forgotten when mine would not move.

McKinney, TX Hi Paul: I just purchased the Raven 7100 from Lowes yesterday. There is no extended warranty available on this product, but after extensive research and blogging with you, I feel good about the purchase. I did a lot of research. I called corporate office with questions, their distributor and local service center who answered my questions. I should have backed it on to my trailer since the weight is mostly in the back of the mower. I pulled it with my 07 Honda CRV…no problem. I got all the ducks in a row in getting it started. I did have to add just a little oil since Lowes did not fill it to the halfway mark. I have 6 acres of somewhat rough terrain. The grass and weeds got a little a head of me this year since I had to put my JD LT 180 in the shop for a new drive belt. I am amazed at how fast and effective the mower is. Cutting time from 8 hours to 5 is probably not an exaggeration. Where my JD wold scalp on some hill tops, this one did not. I don’t think I have more then 15 degree hill with the exception of a very short steep climb to the top of one. The Raven didn’t even slow down. I love the cruise control, but stay awake, trees and turns come up fast. I used the wash out port to clean the deck. It is a fun machine …. so far. In place of the gas additive, can or should I use premium gas? My one complaint is the mower shoot hanging too low and hits the grass as I mow, but I think it’s an EPA thing. I think I will put a little hook on it to raise it just a little. That will also help spread the clipping out a little more. I almost purchased the new Craftsman you talked about, but thought the Raven would be more versatile and fun as well as providing a very even cut at almost twice the speed. So far so good, Paul. I will use my old JD with 800 hrs on it to cut some very rough areas under trees and brush.

Hi Robert, I should take a picture of the mod I made for the chute. Lift up the chute and there is a 3/8 in hole in the top of the deck near the front. I took a 1 inch wide by 1/4 inch thick by 8 inch long piece of flat stock drilled a hole in one end and mounted it to that hole. That’s just enough to hold the chute level and it spreads the clippings well that way. I double nutted the bolt so the bar will swing out of the way if I hit something with the chute.
Since the blade speed is constant you can mow at 6 mph so it should take you a lot less time than with a garden tractor. Yes, the traction is great! The unit weighs over 800 lbs and most of the weight is on the rear so it has a lot better traction than a Garden tractor.
Did you find the choke?
Premium fuel will work. I’ve just gotten into the habit of putting Sea Foam in my gas when I buy it and that works so well for all my stuff.
Keep us informed please, I really like this one and I wish you the same luck I’ve had!
Robert
McKinney, TX. Paul; I have not found the choke. I will make the adjustment to the shoot. What is sea foam? Is that with regular or premium gas? I really is a fun way to mow and tool around. I would not have pursued the Raven if it was not for your review. Thanks. Robert

@Robert, The choke is the gray hook in this picture. It is back by the air cleaner. You may never need it in McKinney but I do up here half-way to the North Pole.
Robert
Thanks Paul. Found the choke. I am from Norway so understand the reference to the north pole, literally. About the gas …. will premium work on its own or do I need the gas stabilizer ???? What is that Foam you mentioned????
Paul Sikkema
@Robert, Sorry, I’m jumping in and out of the house today. Yes, Premium gas will work just fine.
Here is the product I am referring to. I suggest that you use a fuel stabilizer if you are going to store the Raven for more than a month. This product you use 2 tablespoons per gallon of fuel. You can get it at any auto parts store.Sea Foam SF-16 Motor Treatment – 16 oz.

Dadridge,TN After 24.5 hours I have not had any problems with the Raven MPV-77100. Since I probably won’t be mowing much during this part of year, I changed the oil and found it lost not one ounce. Just starting to get a little chilly down to 45, don’t think I will be mowing much more. I received my 48 volt charger yesterday. The charger will just keep it charged up till weather warms back up in the summer. I was thinking of buying the Lowes extended warranty but that may be just a waste of money It works that well. LOL
