I have a Berco 44″ blower and want to mount it on my yt3000 Craftsman tractor , where do I find the mounting kit.
Paul
Hi Alan, Go to https://us.bercomac.com/ to find your local dealer. They also have a “contact us” tab so you can talk to them directly to see if there is a kit available.

in a local swap and sell guide I see a used Berco snow blower for sale. The unit was installed on a Husqvarna 2354GXLS (with hydraulic deck). can I install the snow blower on my YT4500 (917.28858) Craftsman rider?
Paul
Hi Pat, see if you can get the model and serial number. Then call https://bercomac.com/ and they can help you get the right mounts for your 2011 Craftsman

Hi Paul,
You helped me select a lawn tractor that this blower would attach to, Sears 917.20393. Between your advice and my research and reviews, I have to agree that Berco makes the best blower for tractors of this size.
I just wanted to give some pricing information as of 4/14. Most retailers have this listed at around $2000. Shipping may or may not be included. Installation help is extra. Sears has this item for $1700 but shipping is $270. So everyone is close until.
If you have a Sears credit card and are a member of the Sears Shopyourway, Sears is now offing a free 2 day delivery if you join the ShopyourwayMax program. The annual fee is $39.95 but you get a 90 day free trial. Also the Max program gives you 3X points. This is good for Sears and Kmart purchases. Please read all of the terms and conditions.
So basically you can buy this for $1700 and free delivery right now. In the terms and conditions this item would not qualify but it qualifies right now only if you find it through your Shopyouway site.
The blower is around 250 plus lbs. Consider that weight plus packaging if you think you can pick this up at your local store. You will need tire chains and rear wights. I recommend weights of at least 100 lbs. I am a big guy and when I sit on the tractor the rear weight is not an issue, but when you get off you need some weight back there to counter balance the throwers weight.

@John, Thanks a lot for going into the details of how to get this at a great price. And you are correct, if you see a tractor mounted snow blower and it looks a lot heavier than the others you have looked at it is probably a Berco (even if it is painted yellow, black or red.)
For the rest of you here is a link to the Berco snow blower we are commenting about:

i have an older 1998(?) craftsman lt-1000 model tractor with a snowthrower on it…..the tractor itself has seen better days….the snowthrower is model # 248439 and according to the sticker under the hood of my newer craftsman yard tractor it is the same model which is recommended for this tractor…..the thing is my newer tractor is a hydrostatic model(automatic) could you please help me understand how to switch it over because the manual model is engaged with an arm on the dash right near the steering wheel( to the left) and the newer tractor is engaged by an electric P.T.O. ANY SUGGESTIONS…
Paul Sikkema
@robert, you may have to order a bracket or two for your new tractor from searspartsdirect.com. Use the discount code in the right hand column on this page to get a 10% discount on the parts. If you need a new manual go to managemylife.com and you can download it there. You need the complete model number of your blower. It looks like 123.123456.
Running the blower is the same. You used a lever on the old one and you will use the button on the new one. The pulley you connect to under the engine is in the same place. The drive belt with the new tractor will have constant tension because the electric clutch does the engaging not a lever action like on your old tractor. I don’t know if you need a new belt from the engine to the jack shaft. The manual will tell you if you do.
